TO BE in love with content AND ads

Having an active social presence is important but what good is it doing your business if no one is seeing it? At the same time, what good is paying to grow your social audience if you're not focused on quality content? The obvious truth here is that neither are a good social marketing strategy.

Content is key but social is becoming more and more of a pay to play digital space. At TBD we believe that creative content and a killer ad spend should go hand-in-hand to give you the results you want. Here are three key factors in having a successful content and ad strategy.

#1 Creative Copy

Your copy needs to be engaging. You should have clear call to actions. You should ask your audience questions. No one wants to interact with a dull brand. While this seems easy to say and hard to do, there are a million ways to connect and make someone smile or feel something. So that's why our motto is "Keep trying stuff." You don't know until you try. Once your copy is on point you should put a little ad spend behind boosting. All this means is you pay to get your content in front of the right people.

#2 Mixing it up

People have a wide variety of content in their newsfeed and you want to make sure yours stands out. A recent study by Salesforce found that Videos and links outperform any other type of content for newsfeed interaction. Having a variety in content will help get your message in front of more people organically. Posts that perform well should be the ones you bump with a few dollars, and that will get you a better rate of return on your spend. Don't try to force junk at people with your money. That won't work.

#3 Facebook Ads

There are more options than ever to get people into your sales funnel. Local ads, phone ads, website custom audiences, this list is remarkable. Now that your Facebook page will be flowing with quality content, it’s time to put a little of your marketing budget towards page likes. Facebook allows you to advertise your page in your selected demographics newsfeed. Many companies make the mistake of paying money to get page likes but they don’t put focus on content. This is a waste of money. a waste of money. If you’re running website click ads you’ll want to make sure you have the similar tone in the ads especially if you’re targeting your ads towards the same demographic that already likes your page.

When it comes to social media marketing, consistency is key. Make sure your strategy involves content, ad spend and the expertise of TBD Media.
