TO BE A Social Aggregator

Social shines when an approach solves a problem. Our client ZRock was excited about Guns n Roses’ reunion tour and wanted to gain some real traffic on their site from it.

Instead of hosting a contest, or a ticket giveaway….everyone does those. Hey, wait a minute...EVERYONE does those. (#opportunity) It doesn’t mean they are bad. It means they are a source of promotional material, and a way we can resonate with the audience of GnR fans we KNOW we have. So instead of a blog, instead of a recap - what about aggregating those contests?

We created a special landing page (check it out here) unique to the concerts, separated by location, and sharing any and every ticket contest we could find. Social is a tool to use to find work others have already done.

This social engagement is showing us a few things:

*You can pay it forward. Cross promotion sends friends business. ZRock works with so many of these radio stations and can brag and show Google Analytics of just how much traffic was sent their way via ZRock. So far, it’s some big numbers.

*You can ride some coattails. GnR is huge news. That’s clear. This demo is out there and by listening on social, we found that they want to win tickets! So, we’re trying to help. Again, ZRock will give tickets away any day of the week, but that’s becoming the norm. This is a new value add to the site and the ZRock community.

*You can work in scope and still redefine creative. This wasn’t a $10,000 addendum, this was within the month to month budget for ZRock. We’re not always upselling, but we’re always working together to show the community of a client’s fans that they are cared about.
